Music at GCPC

Music is one of God’s greatest gifts to humanity. Music has a way of affecting us in ways that mere spoken words cannot. When we reflect on a classic choral anthem or sing one of the great hymns of Christian history, we experience the beauty and transcendence of God and our hearts are moved to worship him in spirit and truth.

We embrace the rich musical traditions of the past and also appreciate newer takes on traditional forms of worship. In our worship together on Sunday mornings we are led by a number of choirs of different ages, in addition to instrumentalists and vocalists from the greater Richmond area. Our music program is shaped in large part by the use of our new Schantz organ, which was renovated in 2005. Our organ is known as one of the finest in Richmond, and our Director of Music, Chris Martin, does a wonderful job of leading our choirs and the congregation in worship on this remarkable instrument.

Special music programs throughout the year

Sunday Worship in the Summer

During the summer we highlight special music during Sunday morning worship by bringing in instrumentalists from around the city to help lead us in worship.

Candlelight Carol Service

Each Christmas season people from all over Richmond and beyond come to Grace Covenant for a grand celebration of Christ’s birth. From the brass ensembles to the beautiful choral pieces, the scripture readings and carol singing, this is an event for you, your family, friends, and neighbors. Don’t miss it!

Wednesday Night Music Programs

When the opportunity arises we bring in musical acts on Wednesday nights to entertain after Wednesday Night Supper. Check the schedule here to see what’s coming up in the Wednesday night lineup.
